May Day of Oh Six (Part 2)

They surprised the police, and maybe themselves, their T-shirts turning block after block of downtown Los Angeles streets white in a demonstration so massive that few causes in recent U.S. history have matched it. Police said more than 500,000 people marched that Saturday in 2006 to protest a proposed federal crackdown on illegal immigration. Wearing white as a sign of peace, and waving flags from the U.S., Mexico, Guatemala and other countries, they came to show that illegal immigrants already are part of the American fabric, and want the chance to be legal, law-abiding citizens.

  9. I am completely for unregulated immigration into the US with the precept of somehow controlling radicals, extremists, and terrorist from entering. How this compromise is reached is the bigger question.

  19. I still say that we need to eliminate all illegals with the exception of those trying to do something. If they want to go to school, on THEIR money, go ahead, let them remain. If they want to join the military to be grant citizenship, no problem. If they can speak FLUENT English and hold a conversation on at least an 8th grade reading level, let their applications get high priority.

These simple things would help the situation.

I once called up INS during a protest in Chicago saying there are thousands of illegals in one place. "We know", they replied. It would be so easy to grab many in one go.

Illegals attempting to contribute to the good of society, keep them.

Illegals mooching money, send them back.

Oh, and for all those claiming I'm racist, I mean ALL of them. Mexican, German, English, Canadian, you name it.
